MUSIC VIDEOS | Good Shoes - The Way My Heart Beats

Making a music video on a budget? Just simply tie your band to the ceiling.

Good Shoes were a pretty active band in the mid 2000’s supporting the likes of the Pigeon Detectives and Kaiser Chiefs. They broke out with their single Morden, a love letter to their hometown of Morden in South London. Throughout the years following they released a number of singles, one of which including The Way My Heart Beats.

The song is a short bittersweet love story accompanied by a music video directed by Richard Hunter. The video consists of each band member strung up to the ceiling, dangling trying to mime the almost 3 minute song. While pretty comedic its idea really comes into gear when the first verse appears with confetti shooting down upon the band members, opening up the structure of the song and letting out all the emotions of the singer Rhys Jones.

There's not a lot else to say about this one, but its a nostalgic favourite of mine. I do wonder however, as a youtube comment mentions; if they were sneezing glitter for weeks after shooting this.
